About

Henry Cleaver is a British designer who creates self-assembly, customisable furniture, lighting and home accessories.

By drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design and the geometry of nature, along with a desire to bring personality into the home, Henry set himself a challenge: to create joyful products that the user can easily adapt and transform to suit and reflect their lifestyle.

“It is a tricky task finding the sweet spot between modular blocks of no identity and immovable units of no fun; but to succeed means the user becomes the creator, making every product different, every home unique and everyone a designer.”

Choices for the user are at the heart of Henry’s design principles. Instead of being a flat-pack headache, his designs encourage originality with the ability to change attributes like colour, form, size and complexity. There are no traditional fixings involved and no tools required in construction; everything clicks, slots or slides into place. This means that whether it’s a bookcase, lampshade or clock, it can be deconstructed, edited or adjusted with simplicity.

Once cut, each component is thoroughly tested and hand finished, meaning craftmanship flows from pencil and paper to finished product.

Sustainability is also a key concern; only FSC certified materials are used, production methods minimise waste and packaging is made of recycled and fully recyclable cardboard. It's the future of furniture...
